Mumbai sees drop in Covid 19 cases
The city of Mumbai notices a drop in the number of Covid 19 cases for two consecutive days. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday confirmed 309 more cases and 8 patients who succumbed to death. Earlier the day on Thursday the city reported 324 cases and 9 deaths. The caseload came down to a total of 5,539 though the death toll rose to 187 from 120 a day before. 
 
The city of Mumbai reported a total number of three deaths due to the Covid 19 on Tuesday which came up to nine on Thursday. Out of the eight deaths on Friday five patients were comorbidities, several were senior citizens and one was aged between 49-59 years. 
 
The positivity rate in the city came down to 0.9 percent for the continuous second day. On Thursday, the positivity rate in the city was at 0.94 percent. With the recovery rate reaming constant at 97 percent after 407 were discharged after their recovery on Friday. 
In April, the city of Mumbai reported the highest number of Covid 19 cases which were 11,163 after which the caseload started to come down.
 
The daily cases that are being reported are seen declining but not too much. After May, the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) started to come down to 10.96 percent. 769 new cases were recorded in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) according to the reports by the State Health Department.
