Mumbai saw a downfall in Covid 19 cases to less than 400 again
The maximum city after reporting 400 cases of Covid 19 saw cases falling on Thursday as the cases dropped for the second consecutive day in the second wave. The death rate was also seen dropping in the city. According to the data laid down by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) 392 new Covid 19 cases were recorded all over the city on Thursday with 10 mortalities. 
 
A major fall was seen in the city’s Test Positivity Rate (TPR) at 1.28% on Thursday. On July 16 the city of Mumbai recorded the second wave’s lowest Test Positivity Rate (TPR) at 1.26%. This came after reporting more than 2 TPR in the last month on 27 after which the city’s TPR had remained below 2. 
 
The doubling rate was seen becoming better and was 1,152 days on Thursday. The deaths which occurred consisted of 6 patients with comorbidities, 8 deaths in the age group of more than 60, and 2 deaths were reported in the age group of 40-60. Last month on June 8 and July 7, the city recorded single-digit Covid-19 deaths in the second wave.
 
The city’s recovery rate was still at 97 percent with 502 people recovering and being discharged on Thursday. Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) noticed a major fall in new cases. 1,190 cases were reported by the MMR on Thursday, with the ones reported in Mumbai. With Mumbai, Panvel reported 103 and Raigad 286 which is the maximum new cases in MMR. Thane  recorded 77 new cases while Navi Mumbai noticed 57 cases with Vasai-Virar reporting 64 new cases each on Thursday.
