The Minister of Guardian Aslam Sheikh in the city of Mumbai wrote a letter to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demanding them to make arrangements for different washrooms for the transgender people in the city. He further stated the washroom should be set up in areas like Church Gate and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.

" A letter has been written by me to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation asking them to build different washrooms for the transgenders from the washrooms they have been using for past times. The washrooms should be built in areas like Church gates, CSMT, and other areas in Mumbai. Something like this will be done for the first time in the city of Mumbai. The washrooms will be built by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and all the expenses will be carried out by the corporation itself,” stated the Mumbai minister of Guardian Aslam Sheikh.

This step by the minister comes as a welcome step for the community of transgenders in the maximum city of Mumbai. Many other facilities have also been granted to them from the last few weeks such as COVID-19 vaccination, free schools, and also health clinics especially for them have started operating in some parts of the state.
