Mumbai Govandi House Collapse leads to 4 deaths and 7 people injured
Several killed as building collapses amid heavy downpours in Mumbai’s Govandi. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official states that the injured are admitted to the hospitals. It was a single-story house in the Shivaji Nagar area of Govandi located in eastern Mumbai. Four people have died and seven others have been injured. Rescue operations are taking place as per the authority. 
 
As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) disaster management cell, the accident took place around 4:30 am. Seven people have been admitted to the Rajawadi Hospital, and three to Sion Hospital. “At the time of the accident seven fire engines and one rescue van of the fire brigade with one police officer and other agencies reached the site started operating the rescue operation,” stated a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officer. 
 
Further, he stated that Mumbai Fire Brigade with local Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation workers is still clearing out the debris. Earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday guaranteed the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray of every help which will be in reach to support the state in this crisis-like situation due to heavy rainfall creating floods. The Prime Minister spoke to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray about the ongoing situation in the state.
