Mumbai: Builder ‘renames’ Senapati Bapat Marg as The Golden Mile

The Lodha Group seems to have gone ahead and renamed Senapati Bapat Marg as The Golden Mile. The group spokesperson claims an association named it, not the group, but justified it.
The Trump Tower is being constructed at Senapati Bapat Marg by the Lodha group which has structures like the Phoenix Mills, Kamala Mills and the Mathuradas Mill along it. Lodha’s website about The Park has a brief explanation about the renaming. However, a spokesperson of the Lodha group claimed that it was an association that named the road.
The ward officer of G-South ward, B Kapase said that only the municipal corporation (BMC) can change names of the road and that he will look into the matter and the website of the builder where the Senapati Bapat Marg has been called as the Golden Mile. Senapati Bapat Road was named after Pandurang Bapat.
