Mumbai and other coastal areas on alert for heavy rains, Chief Minister asks officials to be prepared

Heavy rainfall is expected to hit Mumbai and the nearby coastal areas this week. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, on Monday, instructed the administration of the state to be alert and prepared for future happenings. The CM in his statement said, that all the patients who are suffering including the ones affected by covid-19, should not face any issues in the treatment. He added, “There is a forecast of heavy rains in Mumbai metropolitan region and Konkan region from 9 to 12 June, be prepared to face any eventuality”.
According to the tweet from the Regional Meteorological Department, “Severe weather warnings are issued over the region in coming 5 days. The rainfall activity is expected to increase over Konkan and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra from June 10.” The state administration has been instructed by the CM to safely moving the people living in lower areas, landslide-prone areas, and dilapidated buildings. Thackeray has given the directions to the state and district level administration to work together so that the people do not get affected in any worst circumstances.
