On Sunday the maximum city of Mumbai reported 362 new Covid-19 cases, taking the overall count to 7,34,119. With this comes a positive development, as 539 people were also discharged during the same day. Even so, 10 people succumbed to the virus. The active cases in the city now stand at 5,610. Maharashtra recorded 6,843 new coronavirus cases and 123 fatalities. The recovery rate is recorded at 96.33 percent in the state. The state of Maharashtra now comprises 94,985 active cases.

The infection tally in the state is noticed at 62,64,922 with the death toll going up to 1,31,552. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) on Monday has issued a list of Covid-19 vaccination centers for the beneficiaries who are above 18 years of age. The first dose will be administered to 40 percent and the second dose will be administered to 60 percent of people.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in its recent study has noticed that most of the Covid 19 cases in the city of Mumbai are recorded from high rises at four to five wards where the locals residing went out for social gatherings or travelled to local tourist destinations.

As the city faces a shortage of vaccination the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started holding meetings with the private hospitals to widen the drive of administrating the Covid 19 vaccination.  “We had talks with 2 to 3 private hospitals who stated that they do have the stock of vaccination and are willing to vaccinate the slum- dwellers,” stated the additional municipal commissioner Suresh Kakani.

Meanwhile, the areas most affected because of the flood were visited by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray such as Chiplun was visited by him on Sunday where he met officials and local representatives to check out the severity of damage and the relief operation which is taking place.
