As per
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)’s latest information, Mumbai will witness moderate to heavy rain spells in and around the city including several remote areas. The city is set to witness a high tide of approximately 4.36 meters at 12:40 PM and a 0.70-meter-high tide at 6:49 PM later in the evening.
Furthermore, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation released information about the average rainfall for the last 24 hours. According to the data, Central Mumbai received 39.84 mm rainfall whereas the Eastern suburbs saw 44.93 mm and 49.12 mm in the Western suburbs. Post India Meteorological Department (IMD)’s warning on heavy rainfall for the state, the magnitude has taken a slight dip with medium rainfall all over the state. Despite this, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Maharashtra.
According to IMD, a depression in the Bay of Bengal has resulted in heavy rainfall. As per IMD’s official statement, a cyclonic circulation continues to hover over Vidarbha and Marathwada resulting in heavy rainfall in the ghat areas in the upcoming days.
Additionally, the rainfall is likely to fall till September 25 as during that time the pressure area is likely to be lower over the Bay of Bengal. However, it is possible to witness intense spells after that.
Concurrently, due to the depression, other states including Rajasthan, Delhi, West Bengal, and Punjab have witnessed heavy rain spells resulting in floods. Delhi is likely to witness moderate rainfall for the day.
