The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has suspended all local cricket tournaments as the empty Wankhede Stadium prepares to present the role of IPL matches in the Bio Bubble from April 10 to 25.  Due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the city, it is following the instructions of the state government.

It was learned that the state government had closed all the stadiums in the city. Comrade Shield had its first matches last week and the Kanga League knockout tournaments started on Sunday. The MCA has decided to suspend all cricket tournaments till further notice as per the directions of the state government.  Registration of players for local tournaments will also be suspended until further notice.

All affiliated clubs of the Association are requested to take note of this,”said the MCA Secretary Sanjay Naik and JT Secretary Shahalam Sheikh said in a statement on the MCA website.
