Matunga corporator starts ‘Swachh Jal Abhiyan’ to clean water tanks

Inspired by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Matunga corporator of ward 167 Rajeshri Shirwadkar has taken a new initiative called ‘Swachh Jal Abhiyan’ to clean up the local water tanks of societies in her ward.
 
The corporator introduced this initiative a few weeks ago and already 40 society have registered for the service. The service is available only for one time. People can call or drop in the office for registration of this service.
 
Shirwadkar said the initiative is getting good response from the society and the aim was to make people aware about the importance of cleaning of water tanks. So far, at Kamgar society 12 water tanks of six buildings have been cleaned. The service is provided with the help of Selvi Enterprises, who clean up the water tanks, said Rajesh Shirwadkar
