As the 75th Independence Day approach, the Maharashtra cabinet discussed the preparations and planning for the celebration and also decided to organise various events across the state through public participation. Under the Amrut Mahotsav, the Ministry of Culture has already outlined plans. The state song was also discussed by the state cabinet for the 75th independence celebration, as per the guidelines of the Union ministry. On the celebrational, the events will be conducted in the Departments of Education, Culture, Tourism, Urban Development, Public Works, Co-operation, Agriculture and Women and Child Welfare. 
 
Under “India@75” many programmes are to be implemented according to the statement released from the Chief Minister’s office, which will be based around freedom struggle, its conceptualisation, achievement and movements. Plays which will be organised in the streets, seminars and performances with folk art will also be organised. With these events there will be events which will include paying homage to the unsung heroes of freedom struggle, visiting their residences, historic places in the freedom struggle in the respective districts, preserving the history of personalities associated with the freedom movement will be done,” the statement said.
