Local train services in Mumbai got suspended on Saturday due to excessive rainfall in the city, as many railway tracks remained waterlogged. Major impacted routes were between Kurla and Dadar stations on the central railway mainline. Sion station was also non-operative due to flooded tracks. However, local train services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Dadar railway station remained unaffected despite heavy rains, informed the central railway.

Due to heavy rainfall in the city, the central railway in Mumbai is providing hourly updates of the traffic situation due to excessive rainfall in the city. In the update posted by the railway authorities at 1:20 pm, all the railway lines are operative. Services between Kurla and Dadar were affected due to more than 61.21 mm rainfall. However, the services were resumed at around 12:50 pm. The train services were blocked as there was a high tide prediction of 4.34 meters and the Mithi river floodgates were closed to maintain the water level between Kurla and Sion. The railways added, all the trains are running smoothly on the other stations.
