The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast cloudy skies with a chance of rain or thundershowers over Mumbai for the next two days (Thursday and Friday). Meanwhile, the city's humidity level has been around 75% for the past few days, especially in South Mumbai, causing severe sweating and dehydration as Mumbaikars await the arrival of the monsoon.

The IMD has set 11 June as the date of monsoon onset in Mumbai, which may vary depending on the arrival of monsoon in other parts of the country, such as the Konkan and Goa regions, after which it will arrive in Mumbai. According to an IMD official, the monsoon has already arrived in Karnataka and is on its way up.

Mumbaikars have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the rains in the city in order for temperatures to drop and the summer season to come to an end. Karan Kaushal, a Malad resident, stated, "Mumbai's climate is very humid, and especially because we were on and off lockdown for two years, people were usually at home during the summers." However, due to the relaxation of restrictions this year, almost everyone left their homes during the summer and was severely affected by the heat and humidity. This is one of the primary reasons why most Mumbaikars are anticipating the rains this year."

Priya Kelkar, a Prabhadevi resident, stated, "We are looking forward to the rains, especially after such a long summer." Also, according to forecasts, the monsoon will have enough rainfall this year, so let us hope for a safe and enjoyable monsoon season."
On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Santacruz was 29.4 °C and the maximum temperature was 34.5 °C, with a relative humidity of 66 percent. While in Colaba, the minimum temperature was 28.0 °C and the maximum temperature was 33.2 °C, with a relative humidity of 75%.
