Unseasonal rains pounded Mumbai and its environs, causing severe rain in many sections of the city and a record 91.2 mm of rain in just 24 hours in the financial capital. Not only that but the rain that fell between Wednesday 8.30 A.M. and Thursday 8.30 A.M. crashed the past set record in 2017, when 53.8 mm of rain fell in 24 hours ending December 6, 2017.

The highest temperature in the suburbs decreased to 24.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday as a result of light rains and gloomy circumstances (8.5-degree Celsius drop). Colaba's maximum temperature was also 24.8 degrees Celsius, down 7.4 degrees Celsius from the day before. The minimum temperature in the suburbs was 23.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature in south Mumbai was 24.5 degrees Celsius.

The city has seen unseasonably wet weather this year, with total rainfall at Santacruz observatory of 133.1 mm from October 1 to December 2 (non-monsoon months). IMD Mumbai has ascribed the Mumbai rains to a system in the Arabian Sea and a trough flowing along the Maharashtra coast.

According to Skymet Weather, a private weather firm, predictions ers projected that "Rainfall would be greatly reduced, however, a few spells may occur in some parts of the city. A few stray showers are possible between December 3 and December 5. By December 6, the weather would be absolutely clear "they stated
