The Enforcement Directorate questioned Shiv Sena Chief Ravindra Waikar for eight hours on Tuesday in connection with a money-laundering investigation. During the Fadnavis government, Waikar was the Minister of Housing. A few months back, BJP politician Kirit Somaiya made severe land claims, citing Ravindra Waikar's wife's name. Somaiya received a slander notice from the Sena leader. It should be mentioned that several Shiv Sena leaders have had to deal with the federal agency in the past. Leaders Bhavana Gawli, Pratap Saranaik, and Anandrao Adsul are among them.

Waikar is a member of the Matoshri Club and the Shiv Chhatrapati Sansthan, among other organizations. Kirit Somaiya, a BJP politician, made significant claims concerning the land, naming Ravindra Waikar's wife Manisha Raikar and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's wife Rashmi Thackeray as witnesses. Somaiya claimed that the site jointly purchased by Waikar and Thackeray at Korlai in Alibag contained 19 homes. He further claimed that the assets were not disclosed in the affidavit to the Election Commission or that the information was kept from the Commission.
