‘I am happy like a common man’: Sonu Sood on the rumours of him joining politics
The speculation sparked soon after Congress leader announced that Sonu Sood may be an option to choose as the mayor in the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections, which was later denied by the actor through a tweet and clarified these speculations as rumours.

These speculations came into notice when reports came out that the list of candidates for the post of Congress mayor was prepared ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. The list included some popular faces. The committee which has been formed as a strategy committee had recommended names of some Bollywood actors like Sonu Sood, Ritiesh Deshmukh and Milind Soman as the figures who can be a possible candidate for the post of Mumbai Mayor.

Sonu Sood soon responded to these speculations of his entering into politics very clearly through a tweet. A tweet was reposted by actor Sonu Sood which read as “Maharashtra: Congress considering Sonu Sood as Mayor’s candidate in 2022 elections.” After which Sonu Sood replied stating that “Not true, I am happy like a common man.”

Soon after the actor broke the mum and clarified these speculations, netizens responded and gave their feedback in support of the Actor and praising him stated, “Always be a common man.” So the second wrote, “This is called selfless service! The third said, “You are great sir.” Another user wrote good Congress’s attention, not yours.
