How the Congress candidates for the BMC Elections will be selected

The Mumbai Regional Congress Committee has received 639 applications from candidates who are seeking official representation from the party in various wards in Mumbai. This is just in 3 days of time wherein they have opened the window of inviting applications
The big question is, How will the Congress decide/shortlist candidates for the richest civic body elections?
The applicants will submit their forms to district committees (6 such committees), which will screen and interview them.
The district committee will finalize candidates for respective civic wards in its area of jurisdiction. The district will be given a firm say in the selection process.
In case of disputes, the selection process will shift to the MRCC, which will approve of a suitable person.
