Give us homes in Mumbai, demand BMC corporators

Corporators have sent in a proposal to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) general body meeting asking for flats for themselves like the ones allotted to state legislators.
The plan to construct a Nagar-sevak Nivas has been pending with the civic body since the past two years. A corporator is responsible for development work in his or her ward for five years and thus deserves a housing solution like the ones allotted to MLAs and MLCs, said Congress corporator Vandana Sable.
The BMC has a total of 227 corporators. Sable demanded housing for all the 227 corporators elected for a five year term and was supported by all the corporators present in the meeting.
