Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh requests SC for Non-Coercive Action in alleged money laundering case
A third summon has already been issued to Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Saturday as he has not appeared for the previous two summonses. The former has now asked the top court of the land requesting non-coercive action by the Enforcement Directorate.

Two issues which are being heard from the Enforcement Directorate is that Sanjeev Palande and Kundan Shinde both the aids of Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, despite being in arrest and the custody of the Enforcement Directorate both have not co-operated and the other important issue is that the Former Minister Anil Deshmukh who has been summoned thrice now is requesting the Supreme Court asking for non-coercive by the Enforcement Directorate.

As yet the Election Directorate has provided three notices to Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, to record his statement at the central agency’s office in South Mumbai on Monday. Earlier Anil Deshmukh skipped the summons, referring to his health issues. Rather, he suggested the Electorate Directorate record his statement via video conferencing.

Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has proceeded to the top court, in defense of any coercive action. The recent summons by the Enforcement Directorate was poured in connection with a criminal case registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, linked with claimed Rs 100 crore bribery- cum-extortion racket that escorted Deshmukh’s resignation in April. The earlier summon came after raids were administered by the Enforcement Directorate at his premises in Mumbai and Nagpur apart from that of his aides and others last month.

Both the aids of Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, which included his Secretary Sanjeev Palande and personal assistant Kundan Shinde are in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate till Tuesday. “With the ongoing case the Enforcement Directorate has some question to ask the former about him and his family members supposed links with some companies with help of which funds were laundered before the allegation was made,” the agency sources said.
