According to sources, Maharashtra's former home minister Anil Deshmukh repeatedly stated during his appearance before the Chandiwal Commission on Monday that he wants to talk about 'Param Satya (Ultimate truth)', presumably referring to ex-Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh's letter alleging corruption charges against Deshmukh.
Deshmukh stated during the interrogation that he wants to know why Parambir Singh wrote the letter (with allegations of corruption). Deshmukh stated that 'Param Satya' must be brought to the fore. Justice Chandiwal, on the other hand, refused to let Deshmukh speak on the subject and advised him to seek written authorization from the panel.
On Monday, Deshmukh and police officer Sachin Waze came before the Chandiwal Commission, and Waze's lawyer Naidu questioned Deshmukh for the third day in a row. During inquiry, he stated that he has never met Sachin Waze and has no idea who he is.
Sachin Vaze's counsel highlighted a WhatsApp message sent to Sachin Waze by a man named Ankit Anand. Anand is the proprietor of True Tram Trunk (TTT), according to Vaze's lawyer, and is a close friend of Anil Deshmukh's son Salil Deshmukh. According to the lawyer, Anand had a conversation with Salil about a hookah parlour, pub, and orchestra bar, as stated in the message. "I'm eager to be picked up. Please let me know when we may meet "the message is read.
When asked about the message, Deshmukh stated that he has no idea who Anand is and has no idea what the message is about. Deshmukh's lawyer objected to the inquiry, claiming that it was irrelevant because it had nothing to do with the $100 million corruption case.
Deshmukh and Waze are both being held in judicial custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in different cases. The Maharashtra government constituted the Justice KU Chandiwal Committee to look into Param Bir Singh's extortion allegations against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
