Kripashankar Singh former Congress Minister who worked as the minister of state for Home in the Congress-NCP government in Maharashtra has now joined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday. The former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and State unit Chief Chandrakant Patil were present when the minister joined the BJP at state party headquarters in Mumbai’s Nariman Point. 
 
The former minister had earlier resigned from the Congress in the 2019 state Assembly elections, he did not campaign for the Congress party during the 2019 Assembly elections however he has a notable following. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections which are going to take place in February next year are in the upfront and Kripashankar has joined the saffron party, with this the Bharatiya Janata Party has launched Mission 2022 beforehand and vowed to win the election with a majority in India’s richest civic body this time. 
 
Kripashankar Singh the former Congress Minister was named as the North Indian Face of the party in Mumbai, he had detached himself from the Congress for some time. He also worked as the Mumbai Congress chief during 2008- 2012. The Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra needs big support from North Indians, keeping this in mind the BJP can use Kripashankar Singh, as Mumbai comprises more than forty lakh North Indian citizens.
