Although the underground water holding tanks in Hindmata - a low-lying area between Dadar TT and Parel - are still under construction, the BMC plans to build a similar tank to prevent waterlogging at Milan Subway in Andheri. The BMC will spend roughly Rs 33 crore on the project, with a completion date set for May of next year.

Last year, BMC began construction on two underground water storage tanks, one in Dadar's Pramod Mahajan Kala Udyan and the other in Parel's St Xavier's ground. The concrete tanks are 100 metres long, 50 metres wide, and six metres deep, with a storage capacity of approximately 30 lakh litres of water. The project aims to alleviate waterlogging in areas such as Hindmata, Parel, Prabhadevi, and Dadar that are prone to flooding.

The Milan subway in Mumbai is prone to flooding, and city officials hope that the subterranean tank would alleviate the problem. According to the civic official, the tank would have a capacity of 20,000 cubic metres and will be connected to disposal pipelines, according to accounts. According to sources, a third of the capacity of two tanks has been prepared, with the remaining tanks expected to be available soon. According to the official, the tanks can hold water for an hour and a half during a strong rainstorm of 70-80 mm.
