The newly sworn-in Eknath Shinde government has asked the state Advocate General to present the state's case in court that the Metro car shed will be erected in Aarey. According to a senior IAS officer, they have been ordered to prepare a proposal. Other key responsibilities for the incoming government include completing a series of projects costing over Rs 3 lakh crore, completing long-pending irrigation projects, the Marathwada water grid project, and commissioning the Navi Mumbai International Airport, which has missed many deadlines.

Shinde, who formerly held the Ministries of Urban Development and Public Works in the previous government, is focused on resolving the card shed project, which is running behind schedule and over budget. Aside from that, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region's Metro train network, which is in various stages of completion, will have to be accelerated. The MVA administration set an ambitious goal of completing the Rs 12,000-crore Mumbai Coastal Road and the Rs 18,000-crore Mumbai Trans Harbour Project by December 2023.
