Decision on opening the Local trains for the general public, probably next week; says Mayor

Mumbai: After a long span of almost two months, Mumbai is finally ready for an unlock. On Monday, many restrictions were lifted in the financial capital. However, the people of Mumbai are still waiting to use the local train services. Mumbai Mayor, Kishori Pednekar on Monday said that the decision to allow the general public in the local trains will be taken in a week, after ensuring that the covid-19 situation is under control in the city. She added, that the local train services are now open for essential services only. On Monday, BMC tweeted the fresh guidelines on the new rules and restrictions of the unlock.
 
Maharashtra government had announced the five phases unlock with several restrictions due to the ongoing pandemic. Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, said, the local administration can take the call for increasing or reducing the restrictions in their respective areas. Covid-19 cases are continuously declining in Maharashtra due to which this unlock decision has been taken by the authorities.
