Vijay Tandel, the independent corporator from Chunabhatti (Ward No 164), a two time corporator has roped in civic departments such as the license department, solid waste management and the water supply department to visit residential buildings in his ward.

Tandel himself participates in these visits to ensure that residents can complain about various issues without having to visit the BMC office.

Tandel began his drive recently and hopes that other departments can be involved. “People have the maximum number of complaints with the water supply and solid waste departments. Through the drive, the citizens will get acquainted with the officials and they won’t have to go to the BMC ward office. I hope that citizens speak out when officials visit the area,” Tandel said.
