Senior Congress leader Narayan Rane expressed hope that his party will get 70-75 seats in the upcoming civic polls in Mumbai and Thane. He said that his party will fight the elections on the issues of corruption and misrule in the past 2 decades in the BMC.

At a meeting with party workers on Thursday, Rane said that at an appropriate time, he will expose the rampant corruption and misrule of the party which has ruined both the Mumbai and Thane civic bodies.

“The government has not fulfilled its promises and hence citizens are waiting for the polls. Development has come to a grinding halt, the state is bankrupt, and the government has failed to do any work. People are annoyed with this dispensation,” Rane, who is the party’s district in-charge said.

Atleast 10 municipal corporations including Mumbai, Thane, Bhiwandi, Solapur, Akola, Ulhasnagar, Pune and Pimpari-Chinchwad are going to polls by February 2017.
