Congress is all set with the plans to contest the BMC 2022 elections on individual grounds. It has already made plans regarding the water supply, slum households and janta darbars all around Mumbai.
It has also started making ways to the slum voters and freebies. The party is all set to regain its lost support and for which it has opted the "tried and tested" plan for regaining the power from the slum holders along with the freebies.
Ashok (Bhai) Jagtap the newly appointed president said, "that the party will strive to provide free water supply to all the slum households."
As per the records of 2011 census, around 52.07 lakh people of Mumbai's 1.21 crore population reside in slum and so with the unaffordable houses it will grow further.
To stay in power Congress
is now trying to woo the slum voters and wants to gain the control over the BMC which is under the control of Shiv Sena for more than two decades. Jagtap has also accused a section of civic officials of forging a nexus with the tanker mafia.
