As the state of Maharashtra notices the cases of Covid 19 going down, speculation is being made of relaxations in at least 25 districts including the city Mumbai from Sunday. Earlier the Health Minister of Maharashtra Rajesh Tope stated that CM Uddhav Thackeray's government looks forward to making a plan regarding easing restrictions at some places in the state.
“There are 36 districts out of which 25 are the districts where good recovery rate can be seen due to which they can be given some relaxations and 11 districts where no or very less recovery rate is noticed are- Sangli, Kolhapur, Satara, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Beed, Raigad, Pune, and Osmanabad, hence no relaxation will be given to them," stated the Health Minister Rajesh Tope after the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting to review the Covid-19 situation in the state.
Apart from the relaxations, a decision on permitting fully vaccinated people in the Mumbai local trains might be taken today. The local train services have been suspended for the general public since April 15. The local train services are operating for those engaged in medical services. A request was made by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to start the local train services for the general public, especially for those who have taken both doses of the vaccination. He also asked the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government to give relaxation in areas where the caseload has been decreased to provide relief to the general public.
