BMC Elections 2022
The BMC has chosen to replace the city's stormwater arch drainage lines and has issued a request for proposals. The local government would invest Rs.415.58 crore in the project. In the past month, the SWD department has solicited two significant bids for the stormwater project. In order to avoid flooding and water logging during the monsoon, BMC issued an invitation for bids on December 6 for the repair, maintenance, and desilting work of various nullahs and stormwater drains in Mumbai.

The stormwater drainage lines are quite old and require repair, according to the city officers. The drainage lines will use geopolymer lining trenchless technology so they can last longer. If there are any leaks, they will be filled as well. It will prevent stormwater from entering the roadway. British-era stormwater drainage systems in the city require frequent maintenance. It's challenging to replace these drainage lines. As a result, BMC maintains these lines on a regular basis. The suburbs will employ this geopolymer lining trenchless technology after it proves viable in urban areas.
