The BMC provides alternative housing to project-affected persons (PAP) in a variety of infrastructure projects, including road construction and nullah enlargement. The BMC has now chosen to gather ward-by-ward centralised data that will be accessible with a single click in order to offer transparency to the allotments to PAPs. According to a civic official, this will allow the local body to plan and carry out PAP initiatives in accordance with the ward's actual needs.

There are several bottlenecks in the alignment of existing roadways resulting in traffic congestion. Additionally, the effort to broaden is delayed by the encroachment next to the nallah. The biggest obstacle to many projects is PAP, who refuse to give up their land and relocate. Projects are delayed as a result of PAPs frequently contesting the accommodations provided for them. The BMC agreed to raise the maximum amount of cash compensation for commercial and residential areas affected by various infrastructure projects from Rs 30 lakh to Rs 50 lakh last year.

The assistant commissioner of the relevant ward prepares the PAP data, and an internet method is used to distribute residential PAPs. Infrastructure projects frequently experience delays because of the PAPs' impending displacement, which raises the cost of the projects. On approved PAPs, however, for which allotment is carried out via the online removal encroachment (RE) module, there is no centralised data accessible. PAPs may be duplicated if this information is missing.

Thus, in order to perform all infrastructure projects, ward-level data must be collected, and a list of PAPs that qualify must be prepared (residential or non -residential). According to a BMC circular, the data will be submitted to the online PAP system. The BMC needs 36,000 PAP dwelling units, according to an estimate made by the estate department taking into account all significant infrastructure projects that will be implemented in the future.

According to Prashant Gaikwad, Assistant Commissioner of the Estate Department, "We are modernising the system and also making digital signatures necessary for it. Earlier we couldn't take data from the system. As a result, information about the available PAPs will be generated on our system, and we will learn about the real PAPs delivered and the financial compensation.
