“The following image creation on social media is fake and we urge citizens not to spread it further. We received a message from the BMC Health Department that high levels of corona could not be detected but that it could affect children as young as 30 years old. We urge all parents not to allow all children to play in open spaces or crowded areas or malls,”read the information circulating on social media. However, in many parts of Mumbai, social distance keeping standards are being violated.
BMC Commissioner IS Chahal said more than five people would not be allowed in public places. That it is not locked down and only a restriction on the assembly of individuals. Trains and buses will continue to run. One can travel in private cars unless there are more than five people. To prevent the virus from spreading to nightclubs, busy restaurants, beaches, malls and market gatherings, we want these places to be closed after 8pm,”Chahal said.
