After 108 contacts, including actors Malaika Arora and Alia Bhatt, tested negative for Covid-19, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday opened four Bandra buildings where Bollywood stars and their families live. On Sunday, actors Kareena Kapoor-Khan and Amrita Arora, as well as actor Sohail Khan's wife Seema Khan, tested positive for Covid-19. On Wednesday, Kapoor-assistant Khan's was found to be positive. On Tuesday, the buildings where they live were sealed. Producer Karan Johar lives in the fourth locked building. The three people who were revealed to be positive had attended a dinner hosted by Johar on December 8. On Wednesday, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) additional commissioner Suresh Kakani remarked, "We have opened the buildings today." 108 of the 145 high-risk contacts in these premises tested negative, he added. "There isn't much of a spread. As a result, we opened the buildings' doors. The floors of positive patients, on the other hand, stay sealed," he stated.

In Juhu, Maheep Kapoor, the wife of actor Sanjay Kapoor, and her daughter Shanaya both tested positive on Tuesday and Wednesday. Johar's dinner gathering was also attended by Maheep. Shanaya said on Instagram on Wednesday that after testing negative four days prior, she tested again as a precaution and was confirmed to be positive. Shanaya wrote in her article, "I have tested positive for Covid-19." "As of today, I'm experiencing moderate symptoms, but I'm fine and have separated myself." I had tested negative four days prior, but the results came back positive when I tested again as a precaution." "We have sealed only one level of the building where the patients stay," Dr. Ajit Pampatwar, medical officer of health (MOH) from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) K-West ward, said.
