BMC to hold a meeting to discuss the New Variant, Omicron

As the concern for the new variant of the Covid 19 came that is Omicron, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is all set to hold a meeting with senior officials today evening to discuss different ways to deal with the new variant. The meeting is being held under the supervision of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal. 
 
As per the information got from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the meeting will also be accompanied by the city’s Covid task force, dean of Covid hospitals, ward officers as well as Health officers. In the meeting, various points are to be discussed including various points on contact tracing from the passenger who will be travelling to the city of Mumbai from different parts of the world. 
 
With this, the directives of Mayor Kishori Pednekar have also come out stating that testing will be done extensively for people attending Mumbai from other countries especially from South Africa where the new variant is found. She added that one should never forget to wear their face masks, especially in public places, maintaining social distancing, to stay away from the new variant of Covid 19. 
 
India has till now made a list of countries from where travellers coming will have to follow some additional measures when stepping in India, which includes regular testing. Israel and Hong Kong have been added newly by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to the list of countries from where travellers would need to follow additional rules.
