BMC to conduct oxygen audit of Civic hospitals to cut wastage

Mumbai: BMC has decided to conduct oxygen audits of all hospitals in the city to ensure that life-saving gas is not wasted. Civic officials said the audit would help determine exactly how much oxygen each patient needs in each hospital to prevent disasters caused by famine. We are going through the previous oxygen audit reports of a few large companies. We will soon finalize the methodology and conduct an oxygen audit of all civil hospitals,” said Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) P Velrasu.

ICU patients need 25 litters per minute and those in bed with oxygen need 10 litters per minute.
