Mumbai: BMC to administer Covid-19 vaccines for 18 above on Friday
The first and second doses of Covishield and Covaxin will be administered to the age group 18 above by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The administering drive will be taking place from 9 am to 5 pm on Friday in the centres which are run by the city, Civic Body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), and the Maharashtra Government.
 
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated that the first Covishield dose will be given to 40 percent and the second dose to 60 percent of people. The second dose of Covishield will be given to the healthcare and frontline workers. Those who will be travelling to foreign countries for jobs, education, or participating from Mumbai will be getting the Covishield vaccine. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) further stated that the citizens will only be getting the second shot of the vaccine if they have completed 28 days post the first dose but they will have to carry all the required documents like admission confirmation letters and I-20 or DS-160 forms for foreign visas. On the spot registration will be done on Friday. 
 
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated that the vaccination for bed-ridden people in the city against coronavirus will be started from July 30 on an experimental basis. These citizens will be given Covaxin with the help of the expert committee and the vaccination process will be carried out in the presence of experts, wherein all necessary precautions will be undertaken, it said.
