BMC says it will give door-to-door vaccination when the Centre lays down a vaccination policy.

Mumbai: The Civil Administration has said that house-to-house vaccination will be implemented when the central government formulates a policy. The High Court on Wednesday asked The BMC is yet to clarify its position and the civil chief or an additional municipal commissioner will explain it on Thursday, but the center said it will be able to vaccinate the elderly and the disabled from house to house in the city, despite its disagreement.

The High Court will hear the matter in the post-lunch session on Thursday. Covid Working Group Committee Chairperson Dr. K.S. NK Anil Singh, Additional Solicitor General of the Center, said the special expert committee headed by Aurora met on May 15.
 
The panel recommended that transport arrangements be made to help transport the elderly and the disabled to vaccination centers. Based on studies from routine immunizations, the panel recommended, a Community Based Retirement Session (COS) will be organized to provide Covid-19 vaccines to a defined population. The COS will be organized specifically for the target population, and vaccinations for all other ages will remain in the designated CVC, the panel said.
