The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sended a request to the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DMC) for Disaster Management to conduct a probe into a fire at a covid Care Center in Mumbai 's Bhandup area. In a letter to BMC Commissioner Iqbal Chahal asked Rahangdale, he said that an inquiry should be held within 15 days to find out the cause of the fire in consultation with the Chief Fire Officer and if there was anything illegal in the structure, the responsibility of the concerned officials should be rectified.
Chahal asked the deputy commissioner to check whether all the required licenses have been issued to the mall and the hospital and if not, the responsibility of the concerned officials should be rectified “a probe will look into the firefighting equipment to be maintained, during the fire, and whether there is any other relevance to controlling such an accidents in the future," the letter said. A huge fire broke out at Covid-19 Hospital on the third floor of a mall in Mumbai’s Bhandapp area. Mumbai Guardian Minister Aslam Sheikh has confirmed that a fire broke out at the Covid-19 Center and Dreams Mall. He said strict action would be taken against those responsible for the tragedy.
