Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has asked private offices to call 50 percent of employees to avoid congestion in the wake of the rising number of corona virus cases in Mumbai. The Civil Body has deployed five teams in each department to implement this law. The teams are to monitor the offices and take strict action against those who violate the 50 percent attendance law. In addition, the corporation is making efforts at various levels to prevent the spread of the disease.
Empanel provides COVID-19 tests and now vaccination drive. Vaccines are currently being offered to citizens between the ages of 45 and 60 and senior citizens at 100 locations across Mumbai. It is reported that the civil body will soon start the vaccination process in two shifts from 7 am to 2 pm and from 2 pm to 9 pm. Although the civic body has allowed the vaccination centers to operate 24 hours a day, the BMC centers are now closed at 5 p.m.
According to sources of BMC, more than 9.70 lakh people have been vaccinated in the city. On the other hand, after a gap of about 300 days, the public was allowed to travel on the suburban railway system. However, trains currently allow the public to board the slots three times a day: from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., 12 noon to 4 p.m., and 9 a.m. to the end of the day. With the increase in COVID-19 cases, the state government may also impose restrictions to prevent the spread. Meanwhile, 5,504 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Mumbai on Thursday, March 25. There are currently 33,961 cases in Mumbai.
