The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched vaccination stations at night to speed up the immunization process in Mumbai. To cover the population who have not yet received their second doses, the corporation will either have mobile teams or vaccination centres in each of the 24 administrative wards. The night centres will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and will primarily be located in congested places such as train stations, slums, construction sites, and other regions with low immunization rates. According to officials, all wards will have at least a one-night immunization centre starting Tuesday. On the virus front, Maharashtra has seen four more cases of the novel variety Omicron, two of which are from Osmanabad and one each from Mumbai and Buldhana. This brings the overall number of Omicron cases in the state to 32, with 25 individuals being released following a negative RT-PCR test.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has chosen to speed up the second dose inoculation due to the threat of the new Covid-19 variant Omicron. According to the civic body's figures, more than 80% of the eligible population (92 lakh people) received both doses. However, many people have been unable to obtain their injections since workplaces and businesses have reopened at full capacity. "Workers, hawkers, daily wagers, and the homeless do not have time to get vaccinated." As a result, this programme will assist in covering such individuals," said a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official.
