BMC ordered walk-in Covid-19 vaccination for lactating women

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), a civil body in Mumbai, on Monday permitted breastfeeding women to undergo Covid-19 vaccination. BMC said it would issue a notification soon. Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said that the BMC had informed the breastfeeding mothers that it would implement my request to give covid vaccination option to pregnant women.
 
They will be within the range of vaccination. Thank you Mr. Iqbal Chahal. Formal notice to follow immediately. The BMC said it would implement a 'walk-in' vaccination for citizens from Monday to Wednesday. Citizens 60 years of age and older will receive one or two doses of the Covishield vaccine during this period. 
 
The second dose is available to health care workers and senior carers aged 45 years and older. All ages can receive a second dose of covaxin. Vaccination drive will be conducted from May 27 to 29 after the registration of beneficiaries.
 
There will be no vaccinations on May 30th. The civic body said it would notify the public a day in advance of any changes to the schedule. A total of 1,431 new coronavirus cases and 49 deaths were reported in Mumbai on Sunday. The casualty is 6,97,810 and the death toll is 14,623.
