Mumbai: BMC is unlikely to give a further expansion to its Global interest expression (EOI) to buy 5 million vaccines ending Tuesday. We will complete the bid scrutiny process once the deadline expires. We will review the documents and validate the bidder companies' connection with the vaccine manufacturers. Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) P Velrasu, who heads BMC’s vaccine procurement program, said that if no proper connection is established, we will not process the bid further.

Shortlisted proposals will be reviewed through appropriate government channels. We only select bidders who are truly capable of delivering vaccines. Russian Development Investment Fund and Dr. Reddy. BMC also said that Reddy's laboratories were not affiliated with any Sputnik V distributor in India. Confirm the supplier's direct connection with the manufacturer, which will stop bid processing.

The sole distribution rights for the first 250 million doses of Sputnik 5 in India were held by Dr. Reddy's group. The two institutions had said in a joint statement last week that it belonged to Reddy. BMC faces the daunting task of verifying and validating the offers of seven bidders, with Pfizer stating that it will only distribute to its vaccine center and has not authorized anyone to import or market the vaccine in India. They are foreign institutions.
