The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) health officials will be holding an online meeting with 100 societies daily for the next two weeks, with the due help of ward councillors. At the time of the conclusion of the meeting, respective representatives will be provided with a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) on all the information that is required.
“The Chairman or Secretaries of Societies doesn't need to make a PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) on their own, they can use ready-made Presentations in their monthly reviews to make residents aware about it,” Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official stated.
This step comes soon after the data from the first and second waves of Covid 19 were examined and it revealed that 90 percent of Covid 19 cases were from high-rise buildings in comparison to slums in the city of Mumbai. With this in mind and speculations of a possible third wave, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) launched an online educational session, where 100 society representatives will be informed about the Covid 19 behaviour that is required daily.
The idea the
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) carries is of creating awareness about the symptoms that people may have due to the monsoon season similar to the symptoms one may have in Covid 19 infection. The city of Mumbai as of now has not noticed any spike in Covid 19 cases and with this, the speculation of a possible third wave is not over yet. With this advantage in hand, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has aimed in raising awareness in the high-rise buildings and non-slum areas.
“As the fear of a possible third wave still prevails, we decided to start creating awareness amongst the citizens and motivate them to follow all the rules mandated for Covid 19 as a precautionary measure with the help of online sessions,” stated Dr. Avinash Waydande, the Medical Officer of Health.
