The BMC has begun preparing for the prospect of an increase in patient volume amid the looming danger of the BF.7 Covid variation. For the acquisition of 1,19,52,985 N-95 and three-ply masks, the civic council has issued a request for proposals. The doctors and nurses employed by the civic hospitals will receive the facial covers. According to the civic official, the contract will be given to a business that can supply high-quality masks in big quantities.

Another important step was the activation of the Covid war rooms at the ward level, along with the preparation of 4,000 patient beds. The Seven Hills, St. George, and Cama Hospitals have also made similar agreements. Additionally, the BMC has requested that 26 private hospitals be prepared to handle emergency circumstances.

Passengers from abroad are subjected to RT-PCR tests, and samples from patients who test positive are submitted to the National Institute of Virology, Pune, where the patient's genome will be sequenced. In addition to all of this, it already places a strong emphasis on immunisation campaigns and urges people to abide by Covid standards.
