The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a call for bids to select companies to maintain three quick response vehicles throughout the course of the following five years. The tender is anticipated to cost roughly Rs.n  Sewer complaints and emergencies such as spills brought on by clogged sewer systems are handled by rapid response vehicles. Earlier, to respond to sewer complaints, the personnel would have to load jetting pumps, water tanks, power rodding machines, and submersible pumps onto the vehicle and then take them to the place, the civic official of the sewage operation department said to us about these vehicles.

This would occasionally cause a delay in the leak correction. The BMC consequently unveiled these rapid response cars in 2018. All of the vehicles have lights, generators, and CCTV cameras. The Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Act of 2013 forbids the building of unhygienic latrines as well as the manual cleaning of septic tanks and sewers without the use of safety equipment. The employment of cutting-edge technologies by the local government to clean sewage systems is also noted.

The vehicles have been used by the supplier for the past three years. The BMC is currently looking for a company to manage these trucks so that it can respond to complaints and handle emergencies involving the city's sewer networks. These three vehicles will be deployed over the course of two shifts, one in the city and the other in both the eastern and western suburbs.

Throughout the year, the vehicles will be driven in two shifts. Three to five complaints will need to be handled by the agency in one shift. There will be eight hours in each shift. The agency should undertake a CCTV survey of at least 40 metres of sewer line in a shift after flushing out the line.
