With Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022 around the corner, problems continue to be in the civic administration. This time the problem is about retirement. Nana Babulal More retired on December 31st, 2021 and was in the tax collection and assessment department at K Westward.

The latter was eagerly waiting for the post-retirement benefits and every one dose. After serving the city for so long years one has a sense of hope that post-retirement years will be good enough. But without any benefit, he died on October 31st, 2021. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) failed to provide the amount to Babulal.

This is just one example of Babulal, but there are several Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) employees who are waiting for their post-retirement benefits and pension to be cleared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). “Nana Babulal More was admitted to a hospital in October due to his illness. The family was not able to arrange for the cost of his treatment, to help some people came forward and contributed,” stated Babulal’s colleague.

Retirement benefits such as a pension, gratuity, provident fund, etc and the ones retired Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) employees and families are running from one pillar to post to get them and are going through a huge financial crisis. “Soon we get retired we stop receiving salaries and after that, we start hoping for the pension and other funds.

It has been more than five months that I’ve been retired, but still, nothing has been heard from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) as of now. I do not have any financial issues but others are there who are facing a lot of problems,” stated other employees of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) from the Tax and Assessment department.
