The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections have taken a wrangle. Between the Congress and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The alliance was going to conduct the elections together as the CM said, but the tables turned when newly elected Mumbai Congress chief Ashok Alias Bhai Jagtap has suggested that the party will contest all the 227 seats.

Earlier in November Congress party leader Ravi Raja also said that the party is capable of contesting the elections on its own.

“As far as BMC elections are concerned, we are not part of MVA. In Mumbai, we are strong and have workers in every ward. We are capable of winning the elections on our own,” said Raja.

In Mumbai during the 2017 polls Congress was last to beat and managed to secure Only 31 seats out of total 227. And during the same elections BJP secured 82 seats along with the Shivsena with 97 in the lead.
