BMC elections 2022: BMC schools among India’s top 10
Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022, the Mumbai city’s two civic-run schools named Mumbai Public School in Worli and Poonam Nagar are listed amongst the top ten schools in the 15th annual Education World India School Rankings survey, 2021-22. The list was released by Education World in association with the Centre for Forecasting and Research Pvt Ltd which is a Delhi-based multidisciplinary research organization. 
 
Soon after the information came out the state minister Aaditya Thackeray congratulated the department of education under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for achieving great success. Taking pride on Twitter Aaditya Thackeray stated, “Two of our Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools in the Education World India School Rankings survey 2021-2022 top ten in India!
 
We are proud that Mumbai Public School has been ranked 1 in the state of Maharashtra and 5 in India and the other Mumbai Public School Poonam Nagar has been ranked 2 in Maharashtra and 10th in India. Very well Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) education department, very proud.”
 
There were 14 parameters of education excellence through which the decision was made, a total of 11,458 parents, educationalists, principals, teachers and senior school students in 28 cities and education hubs all over the country were interviewed to rate the country’s top 3000 schools. 
 
The school in its interview stated that they got immense support from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials during the pandemic time too when everything was new and they had to shift their education completely to online mode. 
“The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) supported the education department a lot in every manner from training to encouraging the staff to do their best,” stated the Principal of Mumbai Public School, Poonam Nagar.
