As the
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022, are around the corner the civic body is all set to start the repair work of 808 city roads which measures around 274 km. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is likely to finalize bids amounting to 2,200 crores by month-end.
As per the information that has come out from the officials of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the repair work is to be done all over the city of Mumbai, western and eastern suburbs, consisting of 808 roads which include both major and minor repair work. Some of the roads that are going to be looked upon are Cumbala Hill Lane, Kamathipura 10th lane in South Mumbai, Kamraj Nagar Road, Ramabai Road in Eastern suburbs and Military Camp junction, etc.
Under this work, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be working on strengthening and maintaining with changing the surface of all city roads from paver block to cement or something which is concrete. A contractor is to be hired who will be looking at these matters of clearance from the Mumbai Traffic Police and will be managing the traffic, which will include installation of safety barricades when construction would be going on.
All the work that is to be led out in these 808 roads in the city of Mumbai is different from one another as the work will be dependent on the challenges the construction site may be witnessing. The tenders were re-floated as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had got bids that were low than the estimates, further, it received 15-20 percent below the estimated amount.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is looking critically at these bids which it has received, with the final call being taken by the senior official of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
