Ramdas Athawale: BMC elections 2022, BJP should join hands with RPI, to come in power

With the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections in 2022 approaching, every party in the city seems to gear them up. In a recent statement, the Union Minister and Republican Party of India (RPI) Chief Ramdas Athawale suggested the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of an alliance with the Republican Party of India (RPI) against the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government consisting of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the city of Mumbai.

Stating that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition consisting of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will be fighting the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections individually so if in this case if Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) join hands with the Republican Party of India (RPI) then it is likely to come in power.

“According to me the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition government which was formed of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will be fighting the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022 individually, and in a situation like this if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) join hands with the Republican Party of India (RPI) then it will possibly come into power. In the last elections to the Republican Party of India (RPI) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) when we're in an alliance had got 82 seats with Shiv Sena winning 84,” stated the Republican Party of India (RPI) Chief Ramdas Athawale.

Further, discussing the Mayor’s post Athawale stated that he would not speak about it now but if we come into power in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022, then the Deputy Mayor in the city of Mumbai be from the Republican Party of India (RPI). The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections are speculated to be conducted in February 2022.
