Yogesh Sagar, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, has addressed Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to call his notice to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials and Shiv Sena leaders' corruption in the exchange of lands with private developers. Sagar claims that he was defrauded of Rs.500 crores in exchange for a plot in Mahul. Sagar urged that the Chief Minister halt the exchange procedure and issue an order for an investigation.
MLA Sagar noted in his letter that the civic body gave its plot to Ajmera builder, which was earmarked for garden and had a good title, in a recent plot exchange between BMC and the builder. "Instead of that, the BMC purchased a land from an Ajmera builder for the Mahul Pumping Station, which is located in a buffer zone, is unsuitable for development, and is encumbered by environmental permits." The exchange was intended to benefit the builder and assist him in avoiding environmental approvals. A direct benefit of Rs 500 crores is available. "It is reprehensible that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government is assisting developers and handing over public land in Mumbai," Sagar wrote in a letter.
According to Sagar, a plot purchased for public reservation cannot be handed to the landowner or a private individual due to a Supreme Court ruling. "However, the corrupt Shiv Sena leader and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials are disobeying the Supreme Court's ruling." Why was there no discussion in the house about the plot exchange? He stated, "It certainly hints of corruption. "According to Sagar, the City's Development Plan had many areas set aside for public, recreational activities. However, because of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) corruption, everything has been lost
